A few days ago, while hanging off the remote on my recent channel surfing adventure, I flicked momentarily across the ‘Spike’ channel which was hanging around just outside E4+1, not far from ITV3 I wasn’t even looking at the screen, didn’t need to be, when I heard it.. dun dun dun Doon Doon dun, dun dun dun dun, deen da deen... 👈 having read that & sounded it out in your head you can’t help but instantly recognize the classic theme tune. No it’s not Dempsey & Makepeace! Maybe this will do the trick.... “If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The A-Team." 👆unbeatable amazingness right there! Let’s be clear, not the reimagining that came to the big screen in 2010, I mean the original 1980’s Mr T starring tv series. Face, Murdoch, B.A & Hannibal! Every male of a certain age remembers which one they would pretend to be at playtime. Between my portrayals of Street Hawk, Peter Venkman & He-Man, I worked hard to hone an excellent, cigar included, 7 year old Hannibal. Murdoch was my second choice role, wheeled out when our street crew was down through sickness, vacation or more commonly, groundings. Despite our realistic rough role plays & just like the real A Team, we never killed anyone. Those Soldiers of fortune with their special forces training & weaponry skills, always managed to save the day & coral the bad guys without a single fatality!
Whereas nowadays Fortnite, Call of Duty & extreme violence are the entertainment norms! Is there a connection with the type of society we are faced with on 2019? But lets not get too deep, I have to go scour eBay for a metal A-Team van with sliding side door and swivel chairs God bless the 1980’s
